These are not easy days for the Spanish national team, which, just 72 hours before the match against Finland, has announced that Alexia Putellas (Women's Ballon d'Or winner) has had to withdraw from the competition due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. With the best footballer on the planet injured, Spain will have to rely on its goalkeepers, who will take to the field with a completely new glove.
The SP Earhart glove is the only glove in the world optimised for women's hands and, obviously, for this big stage it changes its appearance, taking on a colourful and striking look. The chosen design is inspired by the Nike Flight ball for the Euro, a ball that features several shades, including red, light blue and purple.
The glove worn by Sandra Paños and Misa features a white base with geometric shapes in the colours mentioned above. The aim is to create unity between the ball and the glove. By choosing the same colours, when the goalkeeper has the ball in her hands, there is a harmony that brings both elements together.
On a technical level, this glove has been designed with the female hand in mind, so it is smaller and has different technical features, which we will mention below. It has a Rollfinger cut, covered with high-quality 3.5 mm Gigablock latex and 3 mm foam. The back of the glove is made from a single layer of Latexbody for unprecedented lightness. The knuckle area is completely covered with latex inserts to assist with fist clears. Finally, we would like to mention that this is a glove without a closure, very lightweight and with excellent grip thanks to the elastic cuff.
