I'm Oscar Santamaria and I welcome you guys to this new blog.
Here I want to give you all the help you'll need to make the goalkeeper training sessions as good and proper as possible, we want coach and goalie to enjoy this job and not to see it as a moment of suffer.
Since I was a kid I know protecting the goal was my passion, I enjoyed it and it was much better to play in that position that scoring goals.
I trained in the Real Zaragoza youth teams, where I had great coaches and had the chance of training with professional goal keepers. And from all of the I tried to learn the most.
Two years go I made the SP Goalkeeper Coach grade, I'm part of the coaches staff in the schools and SOLOPORTEROS clinics.
Prepare the training sessions, analyze them, feedback, comment on great saves, watch how they work and how they face the games, which are the best exercises to improve technical, tactic or psychological aspects... Here you will find how to face all these things.
A good goalkeeper coach will not be the best just with the best exercises, he has to know well the goalkeeper to be able to make him better in his weakness and to make the most of his good skills, listen to him and understand what he needs and wants.
What you will find here doesn't mean is always the best or the only thing to do, it's just what I think is the best way. I hope you guys join this blogs and with your comments we will all learn together a little bit more.
