- We've always seen you use the Nike tiempo model: Tiempo Legend. Did you decide it or was it a recomendation?
I chose the model, I like these kind of boots, leather boots. Plus it's a great shoe for a defender because it fits me perfect and I feel very comfortable. Since I was a kid I wanted to play with the tiempos.
- So yo havent tried out some other Nike models?
I went straight to this one. Nike gave me the chance of choosing the model I liked the most but since I always wanted to play with the tiempos... so I stick with this model.
- You have lived the step generation between the Tiempo Legend IV and the Tiempo Legend V, a great change in this silo. What differences have you noticed between the past generation and this new one?
The thing that I have noticed the most is that with the past generation the leather would stretch out too much trough the sides and it doesn't happen with the new generation. I've been playing several games with the new one and there's no extra place inside the boot where the foot will move. I'm waiting for the studs to be well worn so I can change them!
- For how long do you use the same boot?
With the past generation I would wear the same pair for 8 - 9 games. With this one it has been a long time, month and a half or so. I have a pair with the FG out outsole for training sessions and another pair with the SG outsole for the games.
- Let's talk about the colorways. You have been wearing the red colorway and the fluor for the World Cup. Which are Pepe's personal favorite colorways for his boots?
To be honest, I don't really care about the colors. Was is really important is that it's comfortable. If Nike gives us that comfort with the Tiempo legend, I dont care about the colorway.
- When you have a leather boot you have to take care of it. How do you take care of your boots?
The Real Madrid staff is in charge of cleaning and putting on the cream to maintain the boot hydrated. They do an excellent job and that is why they last so long.
